Credit Requirements for Award

Credits required for the Master of Science (MSc) award: 30
Credits required for the Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) award: 18

 

 

Master of Science / Postgraduate Diploma in Electronic and Information Engineering

To be eligible for the award of MSc in Electronic and Information Engineering, students shall satisfy either one of the following requirements:

  • Completion of seven taught subjects and a 9-credit dissertation. A minimum of four taught subjects shall come from the EIE core subjects list. Also, the dissertation topic shall be pertinent to the area of Electronic and Information Engineering.
  • Completion of ten taught subjects. A minimum of six taught subjects shall come from the EIE core subjects list.

To be eligible for the award of PgD in Electronic and Information Engineering, students shall complete six taught subjects. A minimum of four taught subjects shall come from the EIE core subjects list.

 

Master of Science / Postgraduate Diploma in Electronic and Information Engineering

(Internet of Things)

To be eligible for the award of MSc in Electronic and Information Engineering (Internet of Things), students shall satisfy either one of the following requirements:

  • Completion of seven taught subjects and a 9-credit dissertation. A minimum of five taught subjects shall come from the specialism’s core subjects list (which is a subset of the EIE core subjects list). Also, the dissertation topic shall be pertinent to Internet of Things.
  • Completion of ten taught subjects. A minimum of seven taught subjects shall come from the specialism’s core subjects list.

To be eligible for the award of PgD in Electronic and Information Engineering (Internet of Things), students shall complete six taught subjects. A minimum of five taught subjects shall come from the specialism’s core subjects list.


 

Master of Science / Postgraduate Diploma in Electronic and Information Engineering

(Multimedia Signal Processing and Communications)

To be eligible for the award of MSc in Electronic and Information Engineering (Multimedia Signal Processing and Communications), students shall satisfy either one of the following requirements:

  • Completion of seven taught subjects and a 9-credit dissertation. A minimum of five taught subjects shall come from the specialism’s core subjects list (which is a subset of the EIE core subjects list). Also, the dissertation topic shall be pertinent to multimedia signal processing and communications.
  • Completion of ten taught subjects. A minimum of seven taught subjects shall come from the specialism’s core subjects list.

To be eligible for the award of PgD in Electronic and Information Engineering (Multimedia Signal Processing and Communications), students shall complete six taught subjects. A minimum of five taught subjects shall come from the specialism’s core subjects list.
