IEEE
IEEE, Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers (Don't miss the ending s in Electronics), is the world's
largest technical professional society, founded in 1884 by a handful of
practitioners of the new electrical engineering discipline. The Vision of IEEE
is to advance global prosperity by fostering technological innovation, enabling
members' careers, and promoting community worldwide. Members of Institute share
global access to new technical developments, formulate internationally recognized
standards, and serve the community at large.
PolyU Student Branch
An IEEE Student Branch is a sub-division of IEEE
located at Technical Universities. It has the task to make students familiar
with the IEEE and to inform them about the activities of IEEE.
Founded in 1995, the IEEE student branch in
the Hong Kong Polytechnic University aims at forming a connection between
students in PolyU and the IEEE, by providing information and activities that
enhance professional development for students studying in disciplines related
to IEEE.

o
The Institute, a monthly
newspaper, which is a supplement to Spectrum. It contains information about
IEEE activities.
-
Other IEEE Publications: As the
publisher of 15% of the world's technical literature in the field of electrical
