The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has established the Centre for Signal Processing which targets to be a major research centre in the area of Multimedia Signal Processing in South East Asia. Studies of the Centre include DSP Algorithms, Fast Computational Techniques, Data Compression, Transforms, DCT, Wavelets, Video, Speech and Image Coding, Pattern Recognition, Intelligent Systems, Neural Networks, Multimedia Communications, Medical Imaging, Information Transfer and Storage, Document Processing, PDA applications, TV and set top box, and web system design. The Centre now needs to employ the captioned posts for the research and consultancy topics in the above various areas, and in particular the projects listed below. Suitable and qualified candidates who are able to propose an MPhil/PhD research topic in consultation with the project leader will be allowed to register for a research degree in the University.

Qualification
Applicants for the Research Fellow post sho uld have (a) a doctoral degree plus three years of postdoctoral research experience or equivalent qualifications and experience in relevant discipline(s); and (b) good research and international journal publication record. Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have (a) a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification in relevant discipline(s) and must have no more than three years of post-qualification experience at the time of application; and (b) good research and international journal publication record. Applicants for the Research Associate post should have (a) a doctoral degree OR a master¡¦s degree with some research experience OR a good honours degree with three or more years of research / relevant work experience; and (b) good research and publication record. Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree or an equivalent qualification. Applicants should also have good interpersonal and communication skills. Applicants are required to indicate clearly the project title in the application for consideration.
