Distinguished Scholars Scheme

The Distinguished Scholars Scheme is created by the University to promote academic excellence and raise the University's academic profile so as to achieve the University's mission of becoming a preferred University both locally and internationally.

Under this scheme, distinguished scholars will be appointed as Chair Professors for a fixed short term, during which the appointees will be in resident service to contribute to academic development in such areas as teaching, research, consultancy, etc.

Incumbents under this scheme hosted by the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering were/are:

  • Prof. S. Y. Kung, Princeton University, USA (2003-2006)
  • Prof. Maciej Ogorzalek, AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland (2007-2010)
