EIE Robotic Project Competition 2005

Objectives

  • To offer a good opportunity for our students to strengthen their capabilities and facilitate them in discovering their hidden potentials.
  • To encourage undergraduate students to apply their knowledge to real problems and learn from practice.

About the Competition

  • The competition focuses on the design of sensing methods and embedded algorithms for a contest vehicle called "GridTracker".
  • With the presence of some randomly placed obstacles, the contestants' GridTrackers will compete over time to search and move a number of target objects within a rectangular grid.
  • The main challenge lies on the adoption of the sensing and searching strategies as the locations of both the target objects and obstacles are not known to the contestants before the competition.
